Robins Triangular Goes Well; Victories over Holmen, Marshfield (5/11)

The Antigo Varsity Baseball squad they had a triangular against Holmen and Marshfield on Saturday.

In Game 1 against Holmen,

Robins offense got started in the 4th innings. Brady Tatro drew a 1-out walk, followed by Garrett Held getting a walk of his own.  With men on first and second, Brady Renfro recorded an F-8 for the second out, moving Tatro to third and Held to second. Next up was Wade Framer, hitting an RBI single to drive in Tatro for the Robins first run on the game. Jaje would go down on strikes, leaving Held stranded on the bases. In the 5th, Luke Schroeder would reach on a walk and would later steal second. Matt Winter would reach on a walk, bringing up Matt Winter. Winter would also walk after another wild pitch, allowing Schroeder to move up to 3rd base. Brady Tatro would single again, scoring Schroeder. With Winter and Tatro on base, Garrett Held would hit a bases clearing single. Held would eventually reach third on a defensive error by Holmen, but would be stranded on a Farmer F-7. In the 6th, Eric Langseth would draw a walk and eventually score by way of Sebastian Noskowiak, who hit a single and registered an RBI. Schroeder would also steal a base, concluding the Robins offense before winning on a score of 5-1.

In Game 1, Brady Tatro took the mound and pitched 3 innings, with 1 strikeout and 1 hit allowed. Eric Marshall would relieve Tatro and pitch 4 innings, registering 2 strikeouts on 3 hits and 1 run allowed.

Offensively,  Brady Tatro was 2-2 with an RBI, Garrett Held was 1-3 with 2 RBI and Noskowiak scored an RBI in the 6th. Prior to that game, Holmen had only two losses on the season.

In Game 2,

The Robins were getting the bat on the ball to start to game.  Brady Renfro got things started in the 4th with a single, Sebastian Noskowiak would followed up with a single to move Renfro to third. Eric Marshall would hit an RBI single to get the Robins on the board. In the 5th, Logan Doering got the Robins going again with a single, followed by a Fielders Choice from Matt Winter. With Winter on base, Wade Farmer would reach on an error by the Marshfield pitcher. With 2 men on, Zach Jaje would smack a double, scoring Farmer and Winter. The scoring in the 5th would come to an end with Sebastian Noskowiak flying out to right, F-9. The last run of the game would be scored by Noskowiak, though. Eric Langseth would reach on a single and move over to 2nd on a wild pitch. Sebastian would hit a single to score Langseth, totaling 5 runs for the Robins.

Cody Urban was on the mound, pitching a complete game, registering 5 strikeouts on 5 hits and 2 runs.
