Brewers Pitch 2nd Straight Shutout, Beat Cincy 2-0

Brewers right-hander Zach Davies bounced back from some early-season struggles, blanking Cincinnati for more than six innings in a 2-0 win Wednesday afternoon.  A two-run homer by Eric Thames in the third inning gave last year’s 17-game winner all the support he needed.  It was the second straight shutout by Milwaukee.  Dan Jennings and Jacob Barnes held the Reds scoreless over the last two-and-two-thirds innings, with Barnes earning his second save.  Centerfielder Christian Yelich returned from a brief stretch on the disabled list to make a sliding catch of a fly ball which had bounced off the glove of left fielder Hernan Perez.  Yelich was also one-for-two with two walks.  Davies had an ugly earned run average of six-point-75 coming into the game against the division rivals.  Chase Anderson starts tonight’s home game against the Marlins at 7:40PM.
