Voter Turnout High Despite Weather

Antigo, WI, United States /

Cold , snowy weather did not keep voters at home for the spring election Tuesday. Voter turnout statewide topped 22 percent. That’s the highest turnout for a spring election since 2011, during massive protests against Gov. Scott Walker’s collective bargaining restrictions. Voters also rejected a constitutional amendment to do away with the state treasurer position. It was rejected by a 22 percent margin.
