WIAA Girls State Tournament Begins Today

The WIAA Girls state basketball tournament gets underway today at the Resch Center in Green Bay. Division 3 kicks off the day with Marshal taking on Wisconsin Dells at 1:35 followed by Saint Thomas
Moore taking on Amherst. Division 4 takes the floor at 6:35 with first time qualifier Crandon taking on the state’s top ranked D-4 team, La Crosse Aquinas who enters the game at 26 and 0. Crandon is 22 and
2 on the year and knocked off two ranked teams, Shiocton and Marathon, in the sectional round to reach the state semi-finals. You can hear the Crandon/Aquinas game on our sister station, Northwoods
Sports Radio 96.5 and online at Semi-Finals in divisions 5, 2 and 1 take place on Friday with championship games in all 5 divisions taking place on Saturday.

WIAA boy’s basketball sectional semi-finals take place around the state tonight. Games of area interest include, in division 1, Stevens Point taking on Kimberly, while in division 2 Merrill will square off against
Marshfield. In division 4 Marathon will meet Auburndale and Oconto will take on Shiocton. Semi-Final winners will advance to the sectional finals on Saturday.
