Parole Hearing For Homecoming Queen Turned Killer

A former Marathon County dairy princess convicted of killing her ex-boyfriend’s fiancee 27 years ago was scheduled to appear before a parole board Wednesday. Lori Esker, now 48, was convicted in 1990 of first degree intentional homicide in the death of Lisa Cihaski. Both were graduates of Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School. Cihaski, 21, was strangled with a belt by Esker in a car outside the former Howard Johnson motel in Rib Mountain. Cihaski became engaged to Esker’s former boyfriend a month before her death.
