It’s the weekend that marks the unofficial end of summer. Peak travel periods for the Labor Day weekend are expected to be today from noon to 8 pm, and then again on Monday. To help minimize travel disruptions during the Labor Day weekend, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is halting work on most highway construction projects around the state starting at noon today. The construction won’t be kicking back in till 6 am on Tuesday. Law enforcement agencies around the state are taking part in the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign that continues through Labor Day.
