Bucks Introduce Top Draft Choice Wilson

Antigo, WI, United States /

(Milwaukee, WI)  —  D-J Wilson, the Bucks’ top draft choice from last week, says he was “destined” to be picked by Milwaukee — even though the team did not much contact with him before last week. Wilson left Michigan two seasons early and was the 17th overall pick in last Thursday night’s N-B-A Draft. The Bucks introduced him at a news conference Monday, where the 6-10 Wilson said the team only talked him with once when he decided to turn pro — and then again at a workout put on by his agents. Analysts say Wilson fits the Bucks’ desire for players with long wingspans who focus on defense and can play at multiple positions. G-M Jon Horst says Wilson can play at any of the three frontcourt spots — and he’ll get his first taste of the pros starting July seventh at the N-B-A’s Summer League in Las Vegas.
