Why Man Lead Police On High Speed Chase

Antigo, WI, United States /

Update on a story we told you about last week. Police are now saying a man lead them on a high speed chase from Antigo into Marathon County because he was trying to back out of a plan to meet a person he thought was a 13 year old girl. Police had interacted with 52 year old Gene Schneider back in March when an undercover officer engaged him pretending to be a 13 year old girl. They say Schneider sent a lewd picture to the girl and also proposed they meet for sex. A sheriffs investigator and an Antigo police officer waited for him in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn on Wednesday morning. His car pulled in but Schneider then took off and that’s when the chase began which exceeded a hundred miles an hour.
