The Robins traveled to Northland Pines to take on the Eagles after traveling to Mosinee and getting the win 9-3 on Monday night.
The Robins continued to show patience at the plate Tuesday, hesitating on bad pitches. The Robins totaled 24 walks, 5 strikeouts and 17 hits over both games against the Eagles.
Game 1 was all Robins with a finally tally of 16-0. Brady Tatro got the first inning started with a single and would later score after stealing second. Garrett Held drew a walk and was driven in by AJ Kirsch to put the Robins on the board early. The 3rd inning is where the game really took off, with the Robins scoring 7 runs to boost their lead to 8.
Marshall led off the inning, reaching on an error, Eric Langseth singled to reach base. With 2 men on, Matt Winter would reach first after being hit by a pitch. Wade Farmer would drive in Marshall with a single. Patience the keyword for the Robins; Tatro, Held, and Kirch all waiting patiently at the plate, reaching on walks. Brady Renfro hit a double to drive in Tatro, Noskowiak grounded out to second but would score another run. Marshall kept the runners rotating reaching on a single, Matt Winter and Garrett Held drawing their second walks of the game to keep the 3rd inning going. AJ Kirsch would hit single to drive in Winter. Brady Renfro would be the last Robin to score an RBI in the 3rd, driving home Held and AJ Kirsch. Marshall would end the inning with a flyout to the second baseman.
More action in the 4th, Matt Winter drew a walk, followed by a Wade Farmer strikeout. Brady Tatro also drew a walk. Garrett Held would reach on a Fielders Choice, keeping 2 Robins on the bases. AJ Kirsch stepped up at the plate again, clearing the bases with a single. Brady Renfro would end the inning with a flyout to left field after the Robins pushed their score up to 11.
The final was 16-0 in Game 1. The Robins solid again on defense, making all the plays that needed to be played. Brady Tatro pitched a complete game, going 5 innings with 7 strikeouts, 4 walks and no hits.
At the plate, Tatro went 2-3 with 3 runs scored, AJ Kirsch went 2-3 with 2 runs scored, Matt Winter went 0-3 but scored two runs, and Brady Renfro went 2-4 with a run scored in Game 1.
In Game 2, the Robins did most of their damage in the 2nd inning. Brady Renfro got the inning started with a single, Jackson Burkhart hitting a single of his own to follow up. Eric Langseth reached on a walk to load the bases. Matt Winter walked to score Renfro, Schroeder hit into a Fielder’s Choice to score Burkhart. Brady Tatro reached on a walk, driving in Langseth. Garrett Held reached on a walk and would eventually get to third base, stringing together steals. AJ Kirsch would hit a sac-fly to score Tatro. The Robins hit through the order bringing up Renfro once again. He would walk and steal second, then to cross the plate on a Noskowiak single. Burkhart would fly out to end the inning.
Matt Winter was 1-3 with an RBI, Garrett Held was 3-4 with an RBI, SB and a walk. Cody Urban threw 6 innings racking up 11 strikeouts on 4 hours and 2 runs with one earned.
Game 2’s final score was 8-2.
