Failing to win 12-of-19 games on the home ice showed up in the number of fans in the seats at Badger hockey games this winter. For the third time in the last four years, the ticket scan shows fewer people attending games than the previous season. Announced attendance figures refer to the number of tickets distributed for an event, but the ticket scanner count shows how many people actually attended. During the 2017-2018 season, a full one-third of the announced crowd numbers were no-shows. An average of just under seven-thousand tickets-per-game were scanned last season. That’s a drop of 41 percent from 2009-2010 — the last year the Badgers made it to the Frozen Four.
