(Milwaukee, WI) — Manager Craig Counsell says he’s surprised that his Milwaukee Brewers have a five and one half game division lead as the second half of the season begins tonight. But Counsell is not surprised by how the team has played, and he says the most important thing for the players is to be themselves and try to do nothing more. The Crew is 50-41 going into a three game weekend series with Philadelphia at Miller Park, and the team held a voluntary workout on Thursday. The Brewers acquired left handed reliever Tyler Webb from the New York Yankees Thursday in exchange for Triple “A” first baseman Garrett Cooper. Webb was added to the Milwaukee roster Thursday night while outfielder Brett Phillips was promoted again from Colorado Springs, and to even out the roster, Milwaukee demoted reliever Michael Blazek to Colorado, and they put starter Junior Guerra on the ten day disabled list with a bruised shin.
