60th Antigo Little League season opens on Saturday

The 60th season of Antigo Little League baseball kicks off on Saturday morning at Al Remmington Field.  Opening Ceremonies begin at 11am.

Scott Walbeck will welcome everyone and talk about the 60th anniversary of Antigo Little League baseball and all the teams will be introduced. Teams this season include;

Minors Divison:

-40 et 8 Box Cars, coached by Zack Washatko

-Antigo Times Rock Hounds, coached by Chris Knapkavage

-Waukesha Bearings Raptors, coached by Chris Hagerty

-Parson’s River Dogs, coached by Adam Nicholson

-The Mosquito Squad Blue Claws, coached by John Majewski

Majors Division:

-Tommy’s Braves, coached by Neil Bretl

-Covantage Blue Jays, coached by Al Fredrickson

-Aspirus Antigo Clinic Brewers, coached by Stacy Kautza

-Neve’s Red Sox, coached by Scott Walbeck

LaVerne Yonkee will be on hand representing the Langlade County Voiture 1204 and the 40 et 8, he will be speaking about the history of the Box Cars and giving the invocation.  Mayor Bill Brandt will help some of the minor division players recite the Little League pledge and Abi Luerrsen will sing the National Anthem.  Also Tim Strasser will talk about Tom Strasser and Tommy’s Braves, the first pitch will be thrown out by Mary Strasser.  The first game of the 2017 Little League season will begin at noon.  The opening ceremonies and first game can be heard on Classic Hits 98.7 and online at AntigoRadio.com beginning at 11am.
