You’ve heard the term “falling down drunk” but Antigo police saw a classic example of it on Saturday afternoon. They responded to a call about a man lying on the ground behind a downtown tavern. He turned out to be just fine. He simply fell down because he was so drunk and did not get up again. The man was cited for disorderly conduct.
A 47 year old woman found herself in similar circumstances early Sunday, but she was behind the wheel of a car. A deputy spotted the woman in the Town of Polar driving slowly along the shoulder of the road. She swerved in and out of the lane of traffic. Her blood alcohol level turned out to be three times over the legal limit.
