(Madison, WI) — At least eight Wisconsin Badgers will get a chance to make the N-F-L. According to media reports from Sunday, U-W receiver Robert Wheelwright agreed to a free agent contract with the New York Giants — and quarterback Bart Houston got a tryout with Oakland. After the draft on Saturday, three other Badgers signed free agent deals — corner Sojourn Shelton with Arizona, running back Corey Clement with Philadelphia, and running back Dare Ogunbowale with Houston. Three U-W standouts were drafted, as the Green Bay Packers took linebacker Vince Biegel in the fourth round, and T-J Watt and Ryan Ramczyk went late in the first round. And more Wisconsinites arranged deals that made known Sunday, as Osceola high school offensive lineman Lincoln Howard of Northern Illinois signed with Kansas City — Milwaukee Marquette center Mark Spelman from Illinois State goes to Chicago’s rookie camp — and former DeForest resident Philip Nelson, a quarterback at Minnesota, tries out with Cincinnati.
