The Antigo Red Robin Boys and Girls track teams competed in the Charger Relays held yesterday at Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School.
On the Boy’s side the Robins placed 4th out of 7 teams scoring 65 points, Northland Pines won the event with 111 points; Bonduel was 2nd with 87, Weyauwega-Freemont 3rd with 82. Wittenberg-Birnamwood finished 5th with 34 points followed by Three Lakes with 31 and Menominee Indian with 29.
Leading the Robins was the 4×400 relay team of Dane Tischendorf, Riland Baker, Drew Hohensee and Will Dixon who finished in 1st place with a time of 3:47.51, Mitchell Schroepfer also picked up a first place finish in Flight 2 of the Shot Put with a throw of 44’8”. The 4×800 Relay team of Zander Aros, Dane Aros, Zach Morris and Deointae Barner picked up a 2nd place finish with a time of 9:49.85 finishing behind Bonduel, also picking up a 2nd place finish was the 4×100 Relay team of Baker, Hohensee, Jericho Kelly and Tischendorf with a time of 48.35. 3rd place finishes went to the 800 Sprint Medley team of Dixon, Frank Kneeland, Kelly and Tischendorf with a time of 1:52.18 and Austin Arlen in Flight 2 of the Shot Put with a throw of 39’9”.
On the Girl’s side, Antigo finished 5th with 52 points, Bonduel won the event with 98 points, Wittenberg-Birnamwood was 2nd with 90 points, Weyauwega-Freemont took 3rd with 66 points and Northland Pines was 4th scoring 54 points. Finishing behind the Robins was Three Lakes in 6th with 28 and Menominee Indian 7th with 13.
Top performers for the Robin girls were Hannah Zenkovich, Kimi Robertson and Morgan Hotchkiss who swept the top three spots in the 300 Long Hurdles with Zenkovich posting a winning time of 53.01. The 4000 Medley team of Emma Jaje, Montana Grabowsky, Ellie Kelly and Emily Gravitter took home a 3rd place finish with a time of 15:49.25 while the 1600 Medley team of Ashlyn Nedden, Riley McCann, Annette Olsen and Evelyn Olson picked up a 2nd place spot with a time of 5:27.16. Madalyn Petrosky finished 3rd in Flight 2 of the Shot Put with a throw of 24’9” and Belle Kneeland also picked up a 3rd place finish in the Discus with a throw of 55’ even.
The Boys and Girls track teams will be back in action Thursday afternoon when they travel to Medford for a multi-team meet.
