A high speed chase that roared through three counties started in Antigo early yesterday. The Langlade County Sheriff’s Department says deputies tried to pull over a man on Highway 60 because he was the focus of a criminal investigation. Instead of stopping, the man hit the gas and sped off. Deputies broke off the chase west of Antigo for safety reasons after the chase reached speeds in excess of 100 miles an hour. The man then sped through Lincoln County and into Marathon County. That’s where law enforcement was waiting for him with a spike strip across the road in Kronenwetter. Deputies also rammed the suspects car. He was taken into custody.
