The Antigo School Board last night approved a long-term facilities plan that include elementary consolidation. Assistant School administrator Bobby Brown says that, as previously discussed, the consolidation would begin with the 2018-19 school year. The plan would move eighth grade students currently housed at the Middle School to the high school, making that a 8-12 facility. Fourth and fifth graders would be moved from the elementary schools to Middle School, making that a fourth-seventh grade configuration. All four-year-old kindergarten through grade three students would be housed at East, West and North elementary schools. Ms. Brown says the proposal was approved along with an amendment that could change everything. The amendment says the changes will take place unless a referendum is approved to implement an alternative plan.
